Submitted on 2014-04-27 by David Thompson

Location (approximate): Milan, Washtenaw, MI

Strat unit: Silica formation

Submitter notes: Oddly, we missed posting an image of one of the loveliest brachiopods of the Middle Devonian Silica shale! This was brought to my attention by M. Palescuk while we were collecting at Milan, MI so I am taking this time to post one of the nice robust examples of this species that is characteristic of this site. This Brachiopod is 3.3 cm wide by 2.5 cm by 2. cm thick. A second photo follows with some more examples of this brachiopod.
