Submitter notes: This is an infested crinoid stem with multiple small borings of a parasitic worm: Myzostomida. This has 9 borings in this one stem section. Not too much is known about these galls or tumors as they are also called. They are not too common.

Submitter notes: Oddly, we missed posting an image of one of the loveliest brachiopods of the Middle Devonian Silica shale! This was brought to my attention by M. Palescuk while we were collecting at Milan, MI so I am taking this time to post one of the nice robust examples of this species that is characteristic of this site. This Brachiopod is 3.3 cm wide by 2.5 cm by 2. cm thick. A second photo follows with some more examples of this brachiopod.
