Megistocrinus rugosus, Platyceras Partridge Point formation David Thompson

Submitted on 2012-07-04 by David Thompson

Location (approximate): Alpena, Alpena, MI

Strat unit: Partridge Point formation

Submitter notes: This view of the Tegmen of a Megistocrinus rugosus shows the base of a platyceras snail but it also has been called a fragment of an inarticulate brachiopod. In either case the majority of the attached specimen was scraped off during its many millions of years underground. What's your opinion?
