Crinoid tegmen with fragment of snail(?)

Submitted by: David Thompson
Taxon: Megistocrinus rugosus, Platyceras
Submit date: 2012-07-04
Location (approximate): Alpena, Alpena, MI
Stratigraphy: Partridge Point Formation
Age: Erian (Middle Devonian)
Submitter notes: This view of the Tegmen of a Megistocrinus rugosus shows the base of a platyceras snail but it also has been called a fragment of an inarticulate brachiopod. In either case the majority of the attached specimen was scraped off during its many millions of years underground. What's your opinion?
