Submitter notes: This species of Brachiopod, Leiorhynchus kelloggi, from the silica shale often has significant amounts of the original nacre or Mother of Pearl still visible and sparkling after 375 Million years. This example from Milan, Michigan has a large amount of the original shell still shining after all these millions of years!
