Submitter notes: An uncommon snail from the upper Widder Formation. The diameter of the snail is 25mm. The brachiopod Stropheodonta demissa is 27mm wide. The slab is 75mm X 50mm.

Submitter notes: A very unusual small snail from the Hungry Hollow member. They are uncommon but not rare. At one time it’s placement was in the phylum Annelida. The specimens range from 6-7mm in diameter and 3-5mm in height.

Submitter notes: A common, straight cephalopod from the Arkona Formation. They are pyritic internal molds with suture lines showing the chambers. They are most common from the Pyrite Zone. The average length in the photo is 20mm.

Submitter notes: A common, coiled ammonite that occurs in the Arkona Formation. They are pyritic internal molds showing their suture lines. These are large specimens for the Arkona shale with the larger one measuring 17mm and the smaller 15mm in diameter.

Submitter notes: This tabulate coral is encrusting the underside of a Favosites colony. This coral is rare in the formation. The Favosites measures 68mm X 57mm. Each coral chain link is approximately 10mm in length.

Submitter notes: Finding whole colonies of this bryozoan is a rare occurrence in the Arkona Formation. This branching specimen required some reassembly after cleaning. The colony measures 73mm tall by 57mm wide.

Submitter notes: Quality single specimen trilobites’, found enrolled or prone, are rare for the formation. The Hungry Hollow member was a high energy environment which made preservation of complete specimens quite rare. Finding more than one trilobite genus on a slab is even rarer. From left to right the specimens measure 23.5mm X 18mm, 30mm X 18mm, and 32mm X 23mm. The second Basidechenella on the right of the Eldredgeops is upside down.

Submitter notes: This rare blastoid is found in units 7, 13 & 14 of the Silica quarries. In old material collected in unit 13 it was more common and could sometimes be found with brachioles. This specimen measures 11.9mm X 9.1mm and is considered large.
